Timothy R. Applegate, age 31, of Stanford, formerly of Sibley, and Gibson City areas, died at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Gibson City, with Pastor Brad Nave officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City and an hour before the service at the church.
Tim was born May 30, 1977, in Champaign, a son of Robert G. and Donna M. Johnson Applegate. He married Holli McGrew on Nov. 11, 2000, in Gibson City. She survives in Stanford.
Also surviving are a son, Austin Michael, age 5, and a daughter, Arin Elizabeth, age 2, both at home; three sisters, Tina (Mark) Yoder of Strawn, Teresa Mau of Lexington and Jennifer Applegate of Sibley; mother and father in-law, Lance and Bonnie McGrew of Champaign; grandmother in-law, Aline Mattingly of Elliott; nephew, Robert Yoder; and niece, Emma Mau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Tim was a 1996 graduate of GCMS High School. He worked at Monical's in Gibson City for several years, then at Ned Kelley's in Bloomington, and then Johnny's Italian Steak House in Peoria. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis's Cardinals fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tim Applegate's children's education fund in care of Heartland Bank.
