Peggy J. Baillie, 62, of Gibson City died at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City with Father Dennis Spies officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City.
Mrs. Baillie was born May 6, 1946, in Watseka, a daughter of Jonas and Ann (Buhrmester) Lucht. She married C. Duane Baillie on Dec. 18, 1965, in Danville. He died Nov. 11, 1996. Surviving are two sons, Todd (Karissa) Baillie of Gibson City and Aaron Baillie of Bloomington; two daughters, Sara (Bill) Wyant of Normal and Amy (Bruce) Killian of Gibson City; her mother, Ann Lucht of Watseka; eight grandchildren, Ben and Ruthann Thackeray; Erica, Payton, Morgan, and Adam Baillie; and Tyler and Baillie Killian; three step-grandchildren, Logan, Levi and Holly Wyant; a great-grandson, Jakob Snyder; and two sisters, Nancy (Art) Norder of Sheldon and Jan (Darrell) Kiesel of Oglesby.
She was preceded in death by her father. Peggy attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, but most of all bringing joy to all of her loving grandchildren. She always looked forward to her daily phone calls to her 91-year-old mother.
In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Gibson Area Hospital or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
