Goldie M. Blake, age 78, of Gibson City died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at her home in rural Gibson City. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Blake was born May 15, 1929, in Morgantown, Ky., a daughter of Grafton and Mary Lee Lindsey Phelps. She married Lilburn "Red" Blake on Oct. 29, 1947, in Greenville, Ky.; he survives in Gibson City.
Also surviving is a son, Randall Blake of Gibson City; four grandsons, Marshall (Petrina) Blake of Saybrook, Jason Blake of Gibson City, Aaron Urrutia of Rantoul and Josh Urrutia of Champaign; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Jean Douglas of Allenstation, Ky., Mabel Sadler of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Tildie Sadler of Belton, Ky.; and a brother, Reathel Phelps of Belton, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, two brothers and a sister.
Memorial tributes may be made to the American Lung Association or to Carle Hospice.
