Susan B. (Braden) Miller McLaren
Susan B. Braden was born July 22, 1901, in Missouri. She was the daughter of Robert E. Braden and Cornelia (McMillen) Braden. Her father was born in Kentucky and her mother was born in Missouri. Susan had eight siblings
Susan was first married to a Mr. Miller. They had two sons, Robert L. Miller and William Miller.
She married the second time to Alva H. McLaren, the son of Colin and Margaret McLaren. Alva died in March 1967.
Susan B. McLaren was a former resident of Earlton, Kansas. She had been a teacher, in Neosho County, Kansas, in Earlton and Chanute Catholic schools.
She died March 7, 1987, at the age of 85 years, in Mesa, Maricopa Co., Arizona.
Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Miller, of Mesa, Arizona, and William Miller, of Salt Lake City, Utah; a step-son, Herbert McLaren, St. Louis, Missouri, a step-daughter, Doris Schuster, Topeka, Kansas; two sisters, Jennie Braden, Gladstone, Missouri, and Florence Braden, of North Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; I believe her first husband preceded her in death, as well as her second husband Alva; brothers, Edward Lester Braden, Herbert M. Braden, and others for whom I have no records.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday afternoon at Community Baptist Church in Utica, Missouri.
Burial was in Utica Cemetery, in Utica, Livingston Co., Missouri. McGilley-Antioch Chapel, North Kansas City, Missouri was in charge of the arrangements.
An obit was in Chanute, Kansas newspaper, Monday, March 9, 1987, but I did more research on her and her Braden family.
