Note by Lanny Golden: Fayette County Cemetery is on ground that belonged to the county. It was the location of the county home/farm/hospital. There were thousands buried there with no records or markers. It was recently sold for development. Many stories have come out of this sell and development as to what happened to the cemetery and the remains. A new location approx. 1 mile away was established for county burials. I am told thousands are buried there also. Plans are in the works for Veterans to have the option of being buried in the County Cemetery or the National Cemetery. Also unclaimed Veterans would be automatically be buried in the National Cemetery.

If you know of someone buried in Old Fayette County Home Cemetery, please email me.
