Benjamin Hunter
Mr. Benjamin Hunter of 1412 Williams Street, South Boston, Va. died January 5 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 75.
Mr. Hunter was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 28, 1933 to the late Mr. Wesley Hunter and Mrs. Betsy Robinson Hunter and was married to Mrs. Louise Watson Hunter.
Survivors include six daughters, Ms. Marlene Hunter of Staten Island, N.Y., Ms. Tanya Watson of Bronx, N.Y., Mrs. Latesha Claiborne of South Boston, Va., Mrs. Shereice Hunter-Beard of New York City, Ms. Tina Watson of Bedford, Va. and Mrs. Kadedra Kelly of South Boston, Va.; four sons, Mr. Benjamin Hunter of Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Abraham Hunter and Mr. Kelly Hunter, both of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mr. Tyrone Watson of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Henderson of Harlem, N.Y., Mrs. Jeanette Hayes of Hollis, N.Y. and Mrs. Carol Torres of Jamaica Queens, N.Y.; one brother, Mr. Jack Hunter of Tucson, Ariz.; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services for Mr. Hunter will be held Sunday, January 11 at 2 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax. Public viewing will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home in South Boston.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main Street, South Boston, Va.
